Sezon

The 2013 video 'Sezon' is about the asparagus farm where I worked as a waitress while studying Kunst im Kontext at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. It tells the story of Ms Ewa, Renata and Wanda, three Polish women employed on the farm as seasonal workers.

The video reflects on the historical context of migration from Poland to Germany and Berlin, including forced labour during World War II, illegalised work and economic exploitation during the communist era and "transformation period", issues which still affect the migrant community today.
